  • Communicycle Bike Distribution November 7th 10am - 12pm

Communicycle will be having bike distribution events  on the  First Saturday of each month, beginning on November 7th.  We would love to have you volunteer and be a part of this wonderful event.  We need volunteers who can greet and visit with our attendees  as well as some who can help work on bike repairs, set up and clean up. No bike repair experience needed. Please stay tuned for the location of this event.  We do ask you to sign up if you can volunteer so that we know how much help we have that day!

  • Mt. Carmel Live Nativity 2020

  • Operation Christmas Child

Every year Samaritan's Purse collects shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children around the world.  The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but it also gives them a tangible expression of God's love.  Franklin Graham, the President of Samaritan's Purse puts it this way:  "Every box is an opportunity to reach a child with the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

This year we are asking everyone to help fill the shoeboxes.

The Children's classes have been assigned who to buy for below:

    • The teachers from all three programs will buy for a 2-4 year old girl.
    • Little Lambs children are asked to buy for a 2-4 year old boy.
    • Lighthouse Kids are asked to buy for a 5-9 year old girl.
    • Kids on the Move are asked to buy for a 5-9 year old boy.
    • Encourage your children to go shopping with you and let them pick out an item or two from the list.  The Dollar Tree has a lot of the items mentioned. We feel it is important for the children to take ownership and participate in this service project to learn how to give from their heart, knowing they will be helping others less fortunate and showing them love.

The rest of the congregation will be purchasing items for

10 - 14 year old boys and girls:  Items purchased can be put on the table in the Gathering Area starting this week on Sunday, October 25.  We want to encourage Everyone to participate and  use their “hands” in one or more ways:

    • Work with your children on the Kid’s class boxes.
    • Purchase the items and fill one (or more) complete boxes that you can specifically track and send a personal note to the recipient.                                            (Boxes will be available on or after Sunday November 1st, at the church).   You can also include the $9 shipping/tracking fee .
    • Purchase items that can be packed into boxes that will be put together during the Pathfinders class on November 15th.  Items will be needed from the following categories:  A "WOW" item, Personal Care, School Supplies, Crafts and Activities, Toys,
    • The full list of items can be found here: https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/what-goes-in-my-shoebox-suggestions/
    • Provide funds so we can cover the shipping/tracking fees or the cost of additional items to fill the boxes. Shipping is $9 per box.  If you are able to make a monetary donation, please note Operation Christmas Child on the memo line of your check ... these can be put it in the offering boxes or sent to the church office.  If you would like to make your donation online, please contact Lee Montanari or Kristen Baughman for assistance.
    • Help on Nov 15 during pathfinders to pack & sort the boxes and get tracking info recorded.
    • Pray.  For those to step out and show Love to those reached by these boxes;   for the missionaries who work with the kids to deliver both the Gospel and a box, and the kids and their families who are in need and that they may hear the    Good News.
    • Things Not to include:  Candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items;   war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.
