Our Beliefs

At Mt. Carmel Evangelical Presbyterian Church we are a family of believers in Jesus Christ, with our sights set on becoming and making disciples of Jesus Christ by loving God, loving one another, and serving the world.

As the body of Christ, we believe our purpose is to spread the Good News of the Gospel of Christ to all.

We believe:

  • In one Holy God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  • That God created all things and is sovereign in all matters
  • That God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, for the salvation of sinners
  • That the Holy Spirit is present and active in our lives
  • That the Bible is the Holy, inspired Word of God, inerrant in all that it teaches
  • That we are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ
  • That we are to live our lives as a response to the grace of God and work toward the redemption of all mankind to Jesus Christ
  • That we are to obey the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, stated in the Gospel of Matthew 28:19-20. ”Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We also believe that God has placed our congregation in this particular and very special place – the city of Aliquippa, in order to be a vessel for it’s reclamation and redemption as God’s Holy Ground. We seek to serve and partner with other organizations to show the light of Jesus Christ with our heads, our hearts, and our hands. We believe it’s through the forming and nurturing of personal and enduring relationships that God speaks and moves most clearly, and we desire to forge such transformational relationships in all we do. We serve a relational God, and we seek to image Him in the life of our church.
